Four Penalties Failed, the Worst Brazil Record

Brazil was defeated by Paraguay on penalties in the quarterfinals of Copa America 2011 after four executors were failed to make goals. This is the worst Samba penalties record in their football history.

Very dominant in normal and extra time, Brazil was failed make even one goal and should give the win to Paraguay with a score of 0-2 on penalties. It is other big surprise in Copa America 2011 after Argentina was failed one day before to get a pass to semifinals as lost against Uruguay also on penalties.

The first four executors of Samba was entirely failed make a goal. Elano is the first executor; his shot drifted away into the top left side, while Thiago Silva shot could be read perfectly by Paraguay goalkeeper Justo Villar which was very well that night. Andre Santos, who was third executor, also met same fate; his shot flew over the target. Fred completed it all when he was missed the ball toward the goal.

This is the first time in the history Brazil fail to score a goal after sending four executors on penalties. Similar tragedy was happened in World Cup 2006 between Switzerland vs. Ukraine. It was the first of three executors Switzerland (Marco Streller, Tranquillo Barnetta, Ricardo Cabanas) no one being able to complete its work. Although Andriy Shevchenko also failed to make a penalty, Ukraine still appear as a winner in the game with 3-0.
